Aquinas Academy Overview

Academy is a private Catholic school located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Our school includes a student population of approximately 450 children from preschool through eighth grade. For over 100 years, our school and its predecessors have provided our community with an impressive history of academic excellence dating back to the former St. Benedict School in 1862 established by the Benedictines of Saint Vincent College.

Students actively engaged in a cooperative learning activity. In 1883, the Sisters of Charity assumed responsibility for operation of the school. Aquinas Academy was formed in 1995 by the Diocese of Greensburg upon the consolidation of the former St. Paul School, Greensburg, St. Bruno School, Greensburg, Greensburg Catholic Middle School, Blessed Sacrament Cathedral School, Greensburg and Sacred Heart School, Jeanette.

Aquinas Academy is a regional school under the guidance of the Office for Catholic Schools and is sponsored by seven area Catholic parishes. Pastors from these parishes serve on a governance board along with the principal of Aquinas Academy, Cherie L. Rullo, and the superintendent of the Office for Catholic Schools, Trent Bocan.
