Intramural Programs
Aquinas Academy offers intramural programs throughout the school year. Students are required to maintain acceptable academic achievement in relationship to his/her abilities. The students will be expected to maintain standard behaviors throughout the school day. These programs are designed to involve the primary grades and introduce different activities for student participation.
FALL
Chess Club – Grades 1-8
This program meets every other week during the month. Students in first through eighth grades will have the opportunity to play fellow classmates during regular sessions and compete in local tournaments throughout the area. Guest chess instructors will visit on occasion to teach students strategies. This program meets after the school day from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
WINTER
Basketball – Grades 1-3
Boys and Girls
Aquinas Academy offers intramural basketball for students in first through third grades during the months of January and February. This six week program is held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Students will be taught basic fundamentals and skills associated with basketball.
Bowling – Grades K-8
Boys and Girls
Intramural Bowling meets one day a week, for eight weeks, during the months of January, February and March. The program is held after school from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the local bowling alley in Greensburg.
SPRING
Golf – Grades 6-8
Boys and Girls
The golf program is held during the months of April and May and continues one day a week during the summer months after school is completed. Boys and girls at this grade level will play nine holes at Norvelt Golf Course. Students are required to have knowledge of golf etiquette and play on a regulation course in order to participate.
