Aquinas Academy Choral Department

 

    

V  Vocal Music Program  

Grades 5-7

All students participate in a graded choir class that meets once (45 min.) every sixth day.

Grade 8

Students may participate in a graded choir class that meets once (45 min.) every sixth day.

Grade 8

Students may audition to cantor for school Masses, prayer services and morning prayers. Cantors meet when it is deemed necessary for rehearsal.

All choir members are required to participate in a Christmas and spring concert as part of their grade.

 

V  Camp Music Zone

 

A week long day camp for students entering second through eighth grade is held at Aquinas Academy in June. Lessons are given on the recorder, guitar, keyboard, music theory, singing, hand bells, dance and Orff instruments.  

Tuition

A fee paid to Aquinas Academy.

Faculty

Three qualified teachers instruct the students for the week.

Performance

Given by the students at the end of the week for parents and friends.

V  Private Lessons

 

At Aquinas Academy, voice lessons are available upon request for a fee.

V  Ten Rules of Concert Etiquette

 

1.     Refrain from talking.

2.     Refrain from unwrapping noisy candy wrappers during the performance.

3.     Turn off cell phones.

4.     Do not wave to your child during the concert.

5.     Do not take flash photography.

6.     Please do not walk down the center aisle with your video camera.

7.     Do not leave as soon as your child’s portion of the concert is over.

8.     Applaud at appropriate times.

9.     Do not leave the auditorium during the music.

10.  Go to the concert expecting the best.
