Alexandra Sigut
Ally is a 2009 graduate of Aquinas Academy. After graduating with honors from Greensburg Central Catholic High School, she earned a scholarship to St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. Ally is pursuing a degree in chemistry with plans to attend Veterinary Science school with a concentration in Wildlife Veterinary medicine. During the past year, she has completed internships at the Pittsburgh Zoo, working with sea lions and sharks. During the fall of 2015, she had an internship at the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Refuge Center in Penn Hills, where she learned animal husbandry and care. She encountered owls, skunks, squirrels, hawks and other native Pennsylvania animals. This past summer, Ally earned a civilian internship with the United States Navy in San Diego, CA that focused on training of marine mammals in the military.
Ally credits the supportive atmosphere, caring teachers and academic excellence of Aquinas for developing her work ethic, time management skills, interest in science and caring for God’s creatures.
