Illness

It is often difficult to decide if you should keep a child complaining of illness at home.  One objective sign is an elevated temperature.  It is recommended that a child be kept home from school until the temperature has remained normal below (100 degrees) for 24 hours.

Another consideration is whether the child is too sick to profit from instruction.  If a child has the sniffles and would be up and around the home, school is appropriate.  If the child is so ill, he/she just wants to stay in bed, home is the place to be!
